A POET IN KROPYVNYTSKYI

When there was a burial.

Of our pilots.

Two blue aircraft made a circle.

Above the city.

Five people were killed.

And another 25 were injured.

When missiles struck the central city.

Of Kropyvnytskyi.

When there was a burial.

Of our pilots.

Two blue aircraft made a circle.

Above the city.

In Kropyvnytskyi.

The Flight Academy was hit.

By two ‘orcs’ missiles.

At about 12:20 on Tuesday.

When there was a burial.

Of our pilots.

Two blue aircraft made a circle.

Above the city.

Two hits on the hangars.

Of the Flight Academy.

Two civilian aircraft were destroyed.

One An-26 aircraft was destroyed.

When there was a burial.

Of our pilots.

Two blue aircraft made a circle.

Above the city.

‘Mordor’ has carried out.

Deadly strikes across Ukraine.

As Kyiv stepped up its efforts.

To retake the occupied southern Kherson.

When there was a burial.

Of our pilots.

Two blue aircraft made a circle.

Above the city.

*Because my friend told me about the news of Kropyvnytskyi like this:
“We’re shocked by these news:

Russian missile attack on Kropyvnytskyi airport kills five, wounds 25 / The New Voice of Ukraine (nv.ua)

Russian missile attack on Kropyvnytskyi airport kills five, wounds 25 — it was near us … It was awful …
We once worked at this Academy and we have many of our friends there…
When there was a burial of our pilots – two blue aircraft made a circle above the city…”

And I also read the same news on the BBC news:

Ukraine war: Russia hits Kyiv area as Ukraine seeks to retake south – BBC News

And “Why are Ukrainians calling Russians ‘orcs’?” by James FitzGerald on 30 April 2022, on the BBC news.
So I wrote this poem.

**My friend shows you this poem also on the Ukrainian website for their children and others!
